What Akshat is looking for
I want to be architecting the pipeline, not writing the instructions layer on top of someone else's. At my day job I own the prompt/instructions layer of an LLM QA agent for a security-insights product — solid work, but the part that actually pulls me in is the layer above and below that: pipeline architecture, evaluation, orchestration, how the thing fails gracefully. The clearest answer to "lose track of time" is from earlier this year — a system design assignment (multi-region ride-hailing platform: Kafka, Redis geo-indexing, per-region Postgres, distributed locking) turned into a genuine rabbit hole. I was reading about Kafka partition internals and consumer offset tracking at midnight for no reason other than wanting to actually understand it, not just get through the interview.
Why Akshat is exploring
Scope. I'm the person writing the instructions layer for an AI agent, not the person architecting the RAG or MCP infrastructure underneath it — and I want that ownership. I've been building the muscle for it on my own time; I want a role where that's the actual job description, not the after-hours version of it.
What won't fit on a resume
Two things I built because I was tired of doing something manually: a full n8n pipeline that scrapes LinkedIn daily via Apify, dedupes against Supabase, tailors my resume per-posting with Gemini, compiles it to PDF, and drops a summary in my inbox every morning — and a separate Python + cron pipeline to find newly-funded early-stage startups for outreach, deliberately kept apart from the n8n one since the two have different failure modes. The one nobody asked for: a multi-agent negotiation system for payment recovery, including a Thompson Sampling bandit I implemented from scratch instead of pulling in a library, plus an attribution engine with a control group and a budget-gating mechanism so it can't overspend chasing one account. I just wanted to know it would hold up under its own logic. And the one that's purely for fun, nothing to do with my day job: a pipeline that researches trending images and quotes and turns them into print-on-demand designs for Etsy/Shopify — spotting the trend, generating the design, and listing the product with almost no manual review in the loop.
