What Keyper is building

Keyper is converting one of the strangest legacies of the UAE rental market — paying a year's rent via one to four post-dated paper cheques — into monthly digital payments. Its Rent Now, Pay Monthly product pays landlords their full rental income upfront while tenants pay in installments, wrapped in a platform that also handles property management and embedded financial services. The rent advances are funded through a $30M Shariah-compliant sukuk facility from Franklin Templeton, so the fintech engine has institutional capital behind it. Traction to date: over $44M in rent financed since launch ($19M in the first half of 2026 alone), more than 10,500 properties worth over $6B on platform, around 4,000 landlords, 100,000+ app downloads, and partnerships with the Dubai Land Department, Abu Dhabi's ADRES, Property Finder, Visa, and Mashreq.

Why this matters

Dubai registered over AED 100 billion (~$27B) in tenancy contracts last year and most of it still settles by post-dated cheque — one of the largest pools of barely-digitized recurring payments in the Gulf, as one investor put it. Keyper is positioning as the infrastructure layer rather than a rent app: whoever owns the payment rails for how an entire market pays, borrows, and invests against its homes sits at the center of it. The syndicate is a distribution strategy in itself — Mashreq's CVC for banking rails, Property Finder for reaching renters at the point of home search, Ellington (a developer) and ANB for supply-side reach, plus government-adjacent DFDF. Founded in 2022 by Omar Abu Innab and Walid Shihabi, the company follows a $6.5M seed, a $4M pre-Series A, and the Franklin Templeton facility.

Investors: Speedinvest (Rana Abdel Latif) lead, NeoVentures (Mashreq CVC), MEVP, Dubai Future District Fund, Property Finder, Arab National Bank, Ellington Properties, Dar Ventures, Abbey Road Investment Group

Hiring outlook

The capital is earmarked for expanding the monthly-rent platform, pushing into institutional landlords and large residential portfolios, and launching new financing and liquidity products — three product lines that each need engineers, product managers, and partnership people. The strategic cap table (a bank's CVC, a real-estate portal, a developer) means integration and enterprise-partnership roles specifically. Deliberate rather than explosive hiring, mostly Dubai-based.

Hiring intensity: 6/8

How to actually get hired at Keyper

Why applying the normal way doesn't work

Keyper runs an applicant tracking system, but hiring managers still work referrals first. A cold application to Keyper isn't dead, it's just fourth in line behind internal referrals, sourced candidates and recruiter pipelines.

What to show them

Shipping consumer or SMB credit/payments products — installment lending, embedded finance, or rent-adjacent fintech — where regulatory constraints and funding-facility mechanics shape the product. GCC market experience is a strong plus. Core skills: fintech product management, credit product design, regulatory fluency, growth analytics.

A cold email that works at Keyper

Subject: Product Manager (Fintech), [your one-line proof]
Omar — launching financing and liquidity products for landlords on top of a sukuk facility is a genuinely interesting product problem, and it's close to what I built at [company]: [comparable credit/payments product] serving [scale]. If you're adding product folks post-raise, I'd love to talk. 15 minutes?

What Keyper screens for

A strategic cap table this dense — a bank, a listings portal, a developer, a sovereign-adjacent fund — only assembles when the plan is to become market infrastructure, and infrastructure build-outs need people before they announce roles. The financing-products roadmap is the tell: credit, risk, and payments hires are coming.

Don't make these mistakes

Don't approach this as a generic prop-tech or BNPL clone pitch — the model hinges on UAE-specific mechanics (post-dated cheques, Ejari, sukuk funding, Shariah compliance) and the founders will filter hard for people who understand the market. If you've never lived the four-cheque rent cycle, at least demonstrate you've studied it.

Mistakes that kill Keyper applications

Generic CVs stand out at a -person company — and not in a good way. Fastest path to rejection.

Skip 'I'm looking for...' — start with Dubai registered over AED 100 billion (~$27B) in tenancy contracts last year and most of it still settles by post-dated cheque — one of the largest pools of barely-digitized recurring payments in the Gulf, as one investor put it and your specific angle on solving it.

Applying and waiting = silence. Follow up at day five — it roughly doubles your odds of a reply.
