What Klarent is building
Klarent is an agentic QA platform for web, iOS, and Android. You describe a test in plain language and its agents generate, run, and maintain it. When the UI changes, tests self-heal, and results go to Slack, Teams, or email via CI hooks into GitHub, GitLab, and Jenkins. The design choice that matters is where the LLM sits. Klarent uses the model only to write the test code; the test itself then runs deterministically and repeatably. That avoids the main failure of 'AI testing' products, where a model clicks through the app live and gives you a different answer on every run. You get the authoring speed of an LLM with the reproducibility of a normal test suite, which is the only version a bank's release process will accept. The customer list is heavy on complicated, multi-system flows: Sixt, Swiss media group NZZ, Swiss Marketplace Group, and JD Sports, where Klarent's agents automate e-commerce workflows across systems the retailer said its own teams could not replicate. Native iOS/Android testing launched in August with the rebrand, and the platform has been on Microsoft Marketplace since September.
Why this matters
Mosaic's Chandar Lal summed up the bet: code generation is scaling faster than our ability to test it, so QA becomes the bottleneck. Every team adopting coding agents ships more diffs per engineer, but the verification side of the pipeline has not grown with it. Flaky end-to-end suites were already the most-ignored signal in CI before AI wrote half the code. The determinism angle is what makes this fundable at seed in a crowded category. Regulated buyers (Klarent's stated next market is banks and insurers, and it already cites a tier-1 bank case study) cannot accept a test whose verdict changes between runs. A system where the LLM writes the test once and a normal runner executes it fits audit and change-management processes as they already exist.

Hiring outlook
Seven roles are live on klarent.ai/careers: three engineering (Product Development, Remote; Infrastructure & Scaling, Zurich; ML Quality, Zurich), an AI Product Analyst, senior AEs for both the UK and US, and a GTM intern. The funding announcement explicitly names growing the engineering team and entering the US.

How to actually get hired at Klarent
Why applying the normal way doesn't work
Klarent has an ATS but the real pipeline is referrals → sourced → recruiter picks → cold apps. You can still get through, but know where you stand.

What to show them
Take an open-source web app with a real E2E suite (e.g. a Playwright suite from a popular OSS project). Have an LLM generate tests for 10 flows, run each generated test 20 times, and measure flake rate, assertion strength (does it catch an injected bug?), and survival after a UI refactor. Publish the eval harness.

What Klarent screens for
Mosaic led on one specific idea: the founders' focus on determinism. Pair that with Moonfire and a former Google director (Jürgen Galler) as an angel, and the round reads as a bet on two senior Google engineers building the boring, correct version of AI QA. Hiring is split evenly between Zurich engineering and transatlantic sales, and the US AE seat is a ground-floor role in a market they haven't entered yet. Engineers: the ML Quality role is the core of the product, since it is about whether the generated tests are any good.
Don't send a generic CV to Klarent. Mirror the job posting's language to get past automated screening.
Don't make these mistakes
Asheem spent 12 years leading engineering on Google Shopping and Maps; Momchil spent nearly eight years as a Staff engineer on information retrieval. Both have lived with Google-scale test infrastructure, so 'testing is important and AI can help' is noise. Don't pitch 'LLM agents that click through your app' either; that's the non-deterministic approach they built Klarent to avoid. Talk about reproducibility, flake rates, and why a verdict has to be the same twice.
Mistakes that kill Klarent applications
At people, a copy-paste CV is immediately obvious. It's an instant no.
Lead with their problem, not your ambition. Klarent is focused on Mosaic's Chandar Lal summed up the bet: code generation is scaling faster than our ability to test it, so QA becomes the bottleneck — show you understand that.
Don't apply and wait. The median AI application gets no response ever. One follow-up at day five roughly doubles reply rates.
