Outerlimit is a security and authorization layer that sits at the one point where an AI agent stops talking and starts doing: the moment it calls a tool. The pitch is Zero Trust extended to the agent action layer. Instead of trying to make the model behave, Outerlimit binds identity, authorization and the action itself together at execution time, so a bad instruction can't turn into a bad action. The interesting primitive is cryptographic. Why this matters
Most agent security today is probabilistic: guardrail models, prompt filters, output classifiers. CTO Peter Vincent's point is that agents change their behaviour based on what they read, so any control that depends on the agent behaving is already broken. Outerlimit puts the control outside the model, in deterministic, cryptographic enforcement at the tool boundary. CEO Tony Pepper's framing is blunt: security teams are 'being asked to sign off on risks they cannot adequately control.'
