What Rein Security is building

Rein deploys as a sidecar at the runtime where agents and AI apps actually execute. It traces every action an agent takes (every DB access, every API call) back to the line of code that triggered it and connects it to a business outcome. Security teams define what each agent should and shouldn't do, Rein baselines its behavior, and out-of-role actions get blocked before they run, without taking the agent down. The architectural bet is about position, not detection. Rein explicitly isn't an AI gateway, a proxy or eBPF. Gateways see prompts. Rein sees what the agent did with them, and because it sits alongside the agent no customer data is routed out of the organization. On top of that it does posture work: code security, vulnerability management and supply-chain checks focused on what's actually exploitable in the agentic runtime. The examples they publish show the problem. An onboarding agent opened an ordinary-looking PDF with a hidden prompt injection telling it to act outside its role, and Rein blocked the out-of-role action. Its Agent Breakers research team showed at Black Hat USA 2026 how they compromised a live, customer-facing shopping agent at a major US retailer. Customers named publicly include Lemonade and Dun & Bradstreet, and H&R Block's global CISO is quoted on the site.

the money

Why this matters

Agents have moved from pilots into production, with real permissions. Rein cites IDC saying 95% of companies now run AI agents in production, and Gartner projecting the market for securing AI at nearly $4.8B in 2027 (up 68.7% from 2026) and nearly $7.7B by 2028. The risks that matter don't show up in a code scan or a gateway log. They show up as behavior several steps removed from the user's request: a poisoned document, a manipulated customer-facing agent, or trust passed from one agent to another. Attackers now use frontier models too, which pushes security from 'detect, investigate, patch' to 'block first, fix after'. That requires something sitting at the point of execution.

the outlook

Hiring outlook

The Series A post says the money goes partly to 'hiring across our teams in New York and Tel Aviv'. The About page says they're 'actively recruiting for both go-to-market and engineering roles', and Matan's LinkedIn headline reads 'I'm Hiring!'. There's no public job board, so applications go to [email protected].

Working at Rein Security

Rein Security is a AI company based in Tel Aviv, Israel & New York, USA. For a AI company this size, the reality is broad remit, direct access to founders, and equity that still means something if the company works out.

Most Rein Security jobs are based in Tel Aviv, Israel & New York, USA.

How to actually get hired at Rein Security

Why applying the normal way doesn't work

With only <50 employees, Rein Security doesn't have dedicated recruiters. Founders review applications between running the company. The challenge isn't competition β€” it's visibility. Direct outreach wins.

Founding team

MB
Matan Bar-Efrat
Co-founder & CEO

Matan served as an officer in Unit 8200, then joined Cyberbit as Director of Sales for the EU market and was named Employee of the Year in 2017. After Elbit acquired Cyberbit he became Regional Director in the Netherlands, growing regional revenue to tens of millions of dollars. He then ran his own consultancy advising early-stage startups on GTM and product-market fit before co-founding Rein in 2024.

NR
Netanel Rubin
Co-founder & CTO

Netanel was a pentester at 16 and went on to find vulnerabilities in WordPress, Wikipedia and Magento. After Unit 8200 he led Check Point's vulnerability research team, then founded Holcy in 2018, which Elbit acquired in 2020. At Elbit he became head of strategic cyber technologies and later CTO of the cyber division. Rein is his second company.

What to show them

Build a deliberately vulnerable multi-agent workflow (for example, a planner agent passing tasks to a tool-using executor), then show a working chain where one poisoned input upstream ends in a real side effect downstream. Write it up with the exact runtime trace that would have caught it.

A cold email that works at Rein Security

Subject: Runtime / Sidecar Engineer (agent instrumentation, Tel Aviv), [your one-line proof]
Hi Netanel, your Series A post called out trust passed from one agent to another as the risk nobody's tools see. I built a two-agent setup where a single poisoned doc in the planner ends in a DB write from the executor. Here's the chain and the runtime trace that would have caught it.

What Rein Security screens for

Glilot led both the $8M seed and this round, and the seed's angels are the founders of Talon, Aqua and Orca, three Israeli security companies that each defined a category. That cap table believes 'agent runtime security' is the next category of that kind. The arc is visible too: the January seed pitch was runtime AppSec (API security, SCA reachability in production), and nine months later the same sidecar is aimed squarely at agents, with 8x revenue to show for it. At 31 people, with Black Hat research as top-of-funnel and named enterprise customers like Lemonade and Dun & Bradstreet, the next hires will set how the engineering and sales teams work.

Don't send a generic CV to Rein Security. Mirror the job posting's language to get past automated screening.

avoid

Don't make these mistakes

Opening with 'I'm excited about AI security' or a list of OWASP LLM Top 10 buzzwords. Netanel was a pentester at 16, hacked WordPress, Wikipedia and Magento, led Check Point's vulnerability research team, and sold his first company, Holcy, to Elbit. Theory won't impress him. Also don't pitch gateways or prompt filtering as the answer, because Rein's entire position is that gateways only see prompts and miss what the agent actually does.

Mistakes that kill Rein Security applications

  • A recycled CV gets rejected fast at Rein Security (<50 people). They notice.

  • Lead with their problem, not your ambition. Rein Security is focused on Agents have moved from pilots into production, with real permissions β€” show you understand that.

  • Don't apply and wait. The median AI application gets no response ever. One follow-up at day five roughly doubles reply rates.
