Velatir
A control layer for every AI tool inside a European company
Last verified August 24, 2026 · Updated daily
What Velatir is building
Velatir is a horizontal integration layer that sits across everywhere AI touches a company: employee endpoints, browsers, third-party LLM vendors, autonomous agents, and internal systems. It maintains a directory of more than 4,000 AI tools and reports in real time on which of them are actually in use, what data is flowing through them, what they cost, and whether any of that is inside policy. The second primitive is the one that makes it infrastructure rather than a dashboard. Sensitive or high-risk requests get routed to a designated human reviewer, and the approval or refusal is logged. That turns 'we have an AI policy' into an artifact you can hand an auditor: a decision trail attached to specific requests, specific data, and named humans, rather than a PDF someone signed in March. The third piece is the positioning, and the team is blunt about it. Everything runs on European-owned and European-hosted infrastructure. COO Christian Møller's line on the round was that sovereign cloud is a common phrase that often means American platforms with a European label, and that Velatir was built on European-owned infrastructure from the very beginning. Whether or not you find sovereignty rhetoric tiresome, it is a real procurement constraint for the exact buyers they are selling to.
Why this matters
Velatir is selling into a compliance deadline, not a vibe. Møller is a lawyer who ran AI Act and DORA implementation at one of Europe's largest financial groups before co-founding the company, which means the product's control surface was designed by someone who has already had to answer the questions a regulator asks. That is unusually specific domain fit for a seed-stage company in a category currently crowded with dashboards. The traction claim is the part worth weighing. Michael Blicher Sørensen's own LinkedIn states Velatir reached more than 80 customers across six European countries in seven months and was approaching $1M in annual recurring revenue. The funding coverage is vaguer, describing rapid post-launch sales growth without disclosing customer counts or revenue, so treat the specific figures as the founder's own account rather than an audited number. Even discounted, the shape is consistent with a round that was reportedly closed in two weeks at roughly four times the pre-Seed. The timing argument is that the AI-governance buyer changed. A year ago the question was which model to use. Now the question is which of the 4,000 tools your staff already signed up for is quietly holding customer data, and who approved it. Velatir is betting the answer has to be observable and European, in that order.

250+Hiring outlook
Explicit and aggressive. The team went from zero to around 30 people since January and has publicly stated a target of 50 to 60 employees by the end of the year, with a Stockholm office opening 1 October and four or five further European offices planned for next year. The company runs its own careers page and says outright that if you do not see a role that fits, reach out anyway.
Working at Velatir
Velatir: A control layer for every AI tool inside a European company. Founded , currently <50 employees. What this means for you: broad remit, direct access to founders, and equity that still means something if the company works out.
Most Velatir jobs are based in Odense, Denmark.
How to actually get hired at Velatir
Why applying the normal way doesn't work
With only <50 employees, Velatir doesn't have dedicated recruiters. Founders review applications between running the company. The challenge isn't competition — it's visibility. Direct outreach wins.
Who to contact at Velatir
Founding team
Sørensen spent more than 14 years connected to the Danish Defence, including service with the Army Intelligence Regiment, a role as a reserve intelligence officer, and representing Denmark in NATO's Electronic Warfare Working Group. He then led data centre security at Meta, working on global risk models and security programmes for mission-critical infrastructure. He holds CPP and ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor certifications and was named to Berlingske's Talent 100 in May 2025. He founded Velatir in Odense and has run it from zero to a European sales footprint in under a year.
Elias Sørensen is Velatir's technical co-founder and holds a patent related to AI-based vehicle control. He owns the architecture of the integration layer that reaches across endpoints, browsers, vendor APIs and agents, which is the part of the product that has to keep working as the tool directory grows past 4,000 entries.
Møller is a lawyer by training who ran AI Act and DORA implementation at one of Europe's largest financial groups before co-founding Velatir. He is the one who articulates the company's sovereignty position publicly, and his objection is specific rather than nationalistic: that 'sovereign cloud' has become a label applied to American platforms. He is based in Odense.
Paulli previously architected dashboards at Usercentrics, the consent-management platform. That is the closest existing analogue to what Velatir is now doing for AI tools: taking a diffuse regulatory obligation and turning it into a screen an operator can act on. He owns the product surface where AI usage, data flow, cost and policy status become one view.
What to show them
Pick three AI tools an employee can start using in under a minute without IT: a browser extension, a desktop app, and a vendor API key pasted into a script. Write a small agent or extension that detects all three from the endpoint and records what data left the machine. Then write the honest section: which of the three you could not see, and why. Velatir's directory covers 4,000+ tools, so the interesting contribution is not coverage, it is a clear account of the detection blind spots at the edge.

What Velatir screens for
Two existing investors doubled down, Spintop came in as a Nordic co-lead, and EIFO put a matching loan behind it. The angel that tells you the most is Jan Oberhauser, who built n8n: workflow automation is exactly where agents start touching enterprise data without anyone watching, and Velatir is the layer that gets bolted on afterwards. The hiring window is unusually legible. They are going from roughly 30 to 50 or 60 people in about four months, and they open Stockholm on 1 October. Stockholm is the newest office with the least-defined roles and the fewest applicants, and this is a team that hires people who build a function rather than inherit one.
Don't send a generic CV to Velatir. Mirror the job posting's language to get past automated screening.
Don't make these mistakes
Do not open with how large the AI-governance market is. Michael spent more than 14 years in Danish Defence, including as a reserve intelligence officer and Denmark's representative in NATO's Electronic Warfare Working Group, and then led data centre security at Meta; he is a Certified Protection Professional and an ISO/IEC 27001 lead auditor. Market-size enthusiasm from a stranger is the least interesting thing you can say to someone with that background. Equally, do not quote the EU AI Act back at Christian from a summary blog post. He implemented the AI Act and DORA at one of Europe's largest financial groups, and he will know within a sentence whether you have read the text or a LinkedIn carousel about it. Lead with an operational failure you have actually seen: a shadow tool, an unlogged approval, a data path nobody owned.
Mistakes that kill Velatir applications
At <50 people, a copy-paste CV is immediately obvious. It's an instant no.
Nobody cares what you want. Start with Velatir is selling into a compliance deadline, not a vibe and how you'd help.
Don't apply and wait. The median AI application gets no response ever. One follow-up at day five roughly doubles reply rates.
