The company claims up to 10x throughput on identical hardware and 10x lower total cost of ownership. The origin story is the credential. This team built NYSE Pillar, the trading system running seven regulated exchanges and over $100B in daily transactions with zero tolerance for data loss. They went looking for a streaming platform that met their requirements, found none, and built a general-purpose one. Alexei Lebedev had done a version of this before: at Algo Technologies he architected Algo M2, at the time the world's fastest matching engine at 16μs round-trip, against Nasdaq OMX INET's 250μs. That lineage explains the design priority.
