About the role

From Uni Systems's posting on Workable, as they wrote it

At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Full-Stack Developer to join our UniQue team.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Development of front-end website architecture (Angular / TypeScript, HTML, CSS).
  • Design of user interactions on web pages (components, forms, UI improvements).
  • Development of back-end website applications (Java / Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security).
  • Implement core business logic, data-access layers and transactional business logic.
  • Apply data and security best practices: input validation, authentication/authorization, secure storage, compliant logging and monitoring.
  • Ensure web applications are optimized for performance and functionality across different browsers and devices.
  • Design responsive applications.
  • Design and develop APIs (REST, JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger).
  • Participating in the design and creation of scalable software.
  • Maintenance of code integrity and organisation.
  • Writing clean, functional code on the front- and back-end.
  • Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement; create and maintain Oracle SQL/PL-SQL views, complex queries, reporting datasets, document templates, automated reminders and integration logic.
  • Perform unit/integration testing, debug, fix, and validate code changes (JUnit, Mockito).
  • Deliver solutions that fulfil functional and non-functional requirements and align with user expectations.
  • Write technical documentation.
  • Develop and maintain features across the entire stack, from designing user interfaces and consuming APIs to implementing server-side business logic and database interactions (Hibernate/JPA, Oracle 19c).
  • Deploy and manage applications using CI/CD pipelines and build/release tooling (Maven, Git, Liquibase); support deployment, troubleshooting and production follow-up on Linux/application-server environments.
  • Bridge the gap between front-end and back-end developers, facilitating communication and ensuring cohesive integration of all system components, including the system-to-system interface that transmits payment orders to a downstream payment system.
  • Support the controlled modernization of legacy functionality through staged migration with minimal production disruption, contributing to code reviews, technical decisions and release preparation.

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

  • Master's degree in IT and minimum 10 years of relevant experience (or Bachelor’s degree in IT and minimum 12 years of relevant experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of end-to-end software delivery over the complete software lifecycle, owning features from requirements analysis through design, front-end + back-end integration, API consumption, testing, delivery and maintenance.
  • Minimum 9 years of back-end development in Java with Spring / Spring Boot and JPA/Hibernate: core business logic, REST services, persistence and transactions for business-critical applications.
  • Minimum 9 years of relational-database engineering with Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL) : schema and reporting-view design, complex queries, query optimisation and data management via JDBC/JPA.
  • Minimum 7 years of front-end development in Angular with TypeScript/JavaScript, responsive, cross-browser web applications.
  • Minimum 5 years designing and securing REST APIs (REST, OpenAPI/Swagger) and applying application security (OAuth2, JWT).
  • Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with Git workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based) and understanding of legacy systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure), deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for developing and deploying applications.
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization protocols and standards (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT).
  • Advanced English (C1) & French (C1) communication skills (written and spoken).
