Common questions

Which startups sponsor H-1B visas right now?

As of October 23, 2026, the startups with the most US roles saying they sponsor a visa are Anthropic (118), Verkada (25), Thinking Machines Lab (11), Fal (7) and Cartesia (6). 61 startups have at least one live US role whose posting says it sponsors, 279 roles between them. In the US, sponsorship usually means an H-1B, the work visa for specialty occupations. New H-1Bs are capped each year and handed out by a selection process, so ask early whether a company sponsors new visas or only transfers ones people already hold.

How do you know a startup sponsors visas?

From its own job postings. We read every live posting we hold in full, 32,777 today, and count one when it says it sponsors visas ("we sponsor H-1B visas", "visa sponsorship is available") and not when it says it can't ("we are unable to sponsor"). A posting that says nothing either way isn't counted, and neither are recruiters and agencies listing other companies' roles.

Is this every startup that sponsors visas?

No. It's the ones whose live postings say so. Many companies sponsor without saying it in every posting, and some sponsor only for some roles or candidates, so when a role you want says nothing, ask the person hiring for it early.

Do startups sponsor visas in the UK?

Some say so: 23 live UK roles at 12 startups say they sponsor a visa, and 109 say they can't. To hire you from abroad, a UK company needs a sponsor licence, and you'd come on a Skilled Worker visa. The government publishes every licensed sponsor, so you can check a company before you apply.
