7 HiringCafe alternatives that also read company careers pages (2026)

HiringCafe is good at one thing most job boards aren't: it reads jobs straight off company careers pages, so you see roles that never got posted to LinkedIn or Indeed. These are the other tools that do some version of that, and what each adds once you've found the role.

Updated . Written by The Anti Job Board — we compete with some of the products on this page, and say so where it matters.

The short version

If you want the same thing HiringCafe does for every industry, Career Hound and Google's job search are the closest. If you want careers-page jobs plus an application sent for you, Scoutify. If you only want startups, The Anti Job Board reads startup careers pages every day and gives you the hiring manager and an email to them, instead of an apply button. Wellfound and Hacker News are worth adding for startup roles that are posted rather than scraped.

What HiringCafe does, and where it stops

HiringCafe is a free job search engine that indexes listings from company careers pages across the internet, rather than waiting for employers to post on it. In September 2026 it announced a $6.8M pre-seed round led by Spark Capital, said it lists more than five million jobs, and launched a free AI Talent Agent that keeps searching for roles that fit your background.

That solves finding. It doesn't solve the next part: a role read off a careers page still ends in that company's application form, and once a good role is visible on HiringCafe it's visible to everyone else using it. So people looking for an alternative usually want one of three things — a narrower slice (startups only), something that acts on the role for them, or a way to reach the person hiring rather than the form.

The alternatives, ranked by what they add

  1. 1. Ours — judge it the same way

    The Anti Job Board

Best for being one of the first emails a hiring manager reads, rather than application #400

A startup job board with a job search autopilot. As of October 24, 2026 it lists 43,000+ live roles at 10,000+ startups and tech companies, pulled every day from their own careers pages, YC's Work at a Startup and Wellfound. Paste your LinkedIn and each morning it finds the new roles that fit you, the person who leads hiring for each one by name, and a short email to them in your voice, which you send from your own Gmail. Role and company pages are free; membership is from $33.99 a month.

    • 8,700+ new roles a week, each checked daily against the company's own careers page
    • The hiring manager's name and work email for each role, rather than an apply button
    • Emails written from your real experience and proof of work; you read and send every one
    • Free role pages, company pages, interview guides and resume tools
    • It writes emails to people; it doesn't fill in application forms or auto-apply
    • Startups and tech companies only, mostly in the US, Canada, UK and EU
    • Pay shown only where the company publishes it
    • The names and emails are paid; the free run shows how many roles fit
  2. 2. Best for the closest like-for-like: jobs found on company websites, not job boards

    Career Hound

A job search tool built on the same idea as HiringCafe. In its own words it finds “jobs posted on company websites”, and it says it lists 4.5 million of them. You can preview the jobs before you sign in.

    • Same model as HiringCafe: company websites, not board reposts
    • Not limited to tech or startups
    • A free preview before you sign in
    • Every industry, so startup roles are a slice you filter down to
    • Its job count is its own claim; we haven't checked it
    • Like HiringCafe, it ends at the apply button
  3. 3. Best for a quick check across every careers page that marks up its postings

    Google's job search

Search for a role on Google and the jobs panel lists postings Google has read from careers pages and boards that publish them as structured data — which every major applicant-tracking system does. It's free, needs no account, and links to wherever the role was posted.

    • Covers almost every careers page on Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever and Workday
    • Free, no sign-up, nothing to install
    • Shows the same role from several sites, so you can pick the company's own page
    • No company-stage filter; startups sit among every employer in the city
    • The same role often appears several times, from every board that copied it
    • Finding the role is all it does; who to write to is still on you
  4. 4. Best for people who want the careers-page jobs and an application sent for them

    Scoutify

Scoutify watches company careers pages too, and adds automatic applying: its Sniper feature, in its own description, applies to new jobs when it detects a supported match. New accounts get three free applications.

    • Careers-page discovery plus applying, in one tool
    • Applies soon after a role appears, which is when it matters
    • Three free applications to try it
    • Applying for you means the company gets a form, not a person writing to them
    • Only works where it supports the application form
    • Its own HiringCafe comparison ranks itself first — read it with that in mind
  5. 5. Best for seeing a role the day it's opened, before it's syndicated anywhere

Company careers pages (Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever)

Startups post to their own applicant-tracking system first — Greenhouse, Ashby or Lever for most of them — and boards pick the role up hours or days later. Watching the careers pages of the companies you care about is the earliest a posted role can be seen. Nobody does this at scale by hand; The Anti Job Board does it across every company it tracks.

    • The first public appearance of any role
    • No middleman, no applicant count, apply straight into the ATS
    • Works for any company, any stage
    • You have to know which companies to watch
    • No alerts on most ATS boards; you check or you miss it
    • Hundreds of tabs to cover a real shortlist
  6. 6. Best for volume — the most startup listings in one place

    Wellfound (formerly AngelList Talent)

The biggest startup-only job board. Companies post, candidates apply directly, and most listings show salary and equity ranges up front. It is free for candidates and it is where most funded startups eventually post.

    • More startup listings than anywhere else
    • Salary and equity shown on most roles
    • Apply direct to the company, often to a founder
    • Free for candidates, no upsell to apply
    • It's the default board, so every good listing draws a crowd within days
    • Roles arrive after the company has decided to post — never before
    • Startup-only means no scaleups past a certain size
  7. 7. Best for engineers who'd rather read a founder's own words than a job description

    Hacker News “Who is hiring?”

A plain-text thread posted on the first of every month where companies, often founders, describe what they need in a paragraph. No filters, no design, no applicant counts — just Ctrl-F and an email address. It is one of the highest-signal sources for early-stage engineering roles and one of the least convenient.

    • Written by the people hiring, frequently founders
    • Early-stage companies that haven't touched a job board yet
    • Free, no account, replies go to a human
    • Once a month; a role that appears on the 3rd waits four weeks for the next thread
    • No search beyond your browser's find, no alerts
    • Almost entirely engineering

Where careers-page jobs actually come from

Most funded startups run their careers page on an applicant-tracking system, and the role lives there before any board copies it. Of the 43,000+ live roles on The Anti Job Board today, 88% were read from the company's own careers page rather than from a job board, and 74% came from Greenhouse, Ashby or Lever alone.

That's why the tools on this page find roles LinkedIn doesn't have: they're reading the same few systems the companies post to. What separates them is coverage (every employer, or one kind), how often they check, and what they hand you once a role turns up.

How to use them together

  • —Keep HiringCafe or Career Hound for breadth if your search isn't startup-only.
  • —If it is, use one startup-specific source so you're not filtering millions of listings down to a few hundred.
  • —For the roles you'd reorganise your week around, skip the form: find the hiring manager and write to them the day the role appears.
  • —Check the role on the company's own careers page before you write. Aggregators keep closed roles up longer than the company does.

Our honest position

HiringCafe is free and covers far more employers than we do. If you want every industry, use it. We only cover startups and tech companies, and we do something it doesn't: for each new role that fits you, we find the person who leads hiring by name, with their work email, and write a short email to them from your real experience, which you send from your own Gmail. If finding roles is your problem, HiringCafe is enough. If hearing back is your problem, that's what we're for.

Frequently asked questions

Is HiringCafe free?

Yes. HiringCafe is free for job seekers, and its AI Talent Agent, launched in September 2026, has no subscription fee either.

Are there other sites like HiringCafe?

Yes. Career Hound also finds jobs posted on company websites, Google's job search reads postings from careers pages that publish structured data, and Scoutify watches careers pages and can apply for you. The Anti Job Board does the same for startups and tech companies only, and adds the hiring manager's name and an email to them.

Does HiringCafe apply to jobs for you?

No. It finds roles and sends you to the company's own application. Scoutify is the alternative here that applies for you; The Anti Job Board writes an email to the hiring manager that you read and send yourself.

Where does HiringCafe get its jobs?

From company careers pages across the internet, rather than from employers posting on HiringCafe itself. Most of those careers pages run on applicant-tracking systems like Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday.

What's the best HiringCafe alternative for startup jobs?

One that only covers startups, so you aren't filtering through every employer. The Anti Job Board reads 43,000+ live roles at 10,000+ startups and tech companies, 88% of them from the company's own careers page. Wellfound is the biggest startup board for roles companies post themselves.
