Frequently asked questions

How does the skills generator work?

It reads your full resume, extracts every skill you can actually evidence, then suggests adjacent skills common in your field — inferred from your roles, not a generic list.

Should I add every suggested skill?

No — only ones you genuinely have. Suggestions are prompts for skills you may have forgotten to list, not permission to pad. Interviewers check.

Where should skills go on a resume?

A dedicated skills section near the top or bottom works for scanners, but the strongest placement is inside experience bullets — “built the pipeline in Kafka” proves Kafka better than a keyword list does.

Why do missing keywords matter?

Recruiters search their applicant database by skill keywords. If the tools you use daily aren't literally on the page, you don't appear in the search — regardless of how good the work was.

Is my resume stored?

No. It's processed in memory and discarded.
