About Affinex Capital

Located in the vibrant city of Tucson, Arizona, Affinex is a rapidly growing financial services platform focused on retirement income planning, wealth management, and annuity distribution.

Recognized by Inc. Magazine in 2026 as the 48th fastest-growing private companies in the United States, Affinex is building a premier national advisory platform. Founded by industry veteran Joshua Mellberg (who previously scaled J.D. Mellberg Financial to eight consecutive Inc. 500/5000 rankings and a successful acquisition by AmeriLife Group), Affinex combines deep industry expertise with a high-energy, fast-paced corporate culture. As we scale our national footprint, we are looking for competitive professionals to drive our expansion.

The Paraplanner plays a vital role in supporting our agency’s sales managers and financial advisors by providing dedicated case design, policy research, and financial plan construction. This position serves as the technical engine of the firm, learning and utilizing tools like Retirement Analyzer to turn complex client financial data into clear, actionable risk management and retirement solutions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn financial planning concepts, and thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • Build comprehensive financial and retirement analysis models using tools such as Retirement Analyzer (training provided).
  • Gather and audit client financial data, tax documents, and existing policy portfolios to identify product gap analyses across life, disability, long-term care, and annuities.
  • Draft client presentation materials, coverage summaries, and tailored recommendation decks.

Advisor & Meeting Support

  • Assemble complete case packets, policy review summaries, and proposed agendas prior to advisor consultations.
  • Attend client case review meetings alongside Lead Advisors/Managers as needed to log technical notes, capture specific planning goals, and track follow-up items.
  • Prepare post-meeting action summaries and guide clients through onboarding or plan implementation steps (e.g., account transfers, beneficiary updates, policy deliveries).

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Entry-level candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply!
  • Licensing: Active state Life & Health Insurance license is a plus, but not required (firm will support obtaining licensing if needed).

Technical Aptitude

  • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace/Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with or quick ability to learn financial planning software (e.g., Retirement Analyzer, eMoney) and CRMs (e.g., Redtail, Salesforce).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong numerical and analytical capabilities with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and respect for client confidentiality.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 annually, depending on background and skills.
  • Benefits: Employer-sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with employer matching contribution.
  • Time Off: Paid time off (PTO) and paid company holidays.
