In nine months from launch, the company has secured a port terminal, taken delivery of barges, started construction on a test reactor, and entered formal engagement with the NRC, the Coast Guard, and the DOT Maritime Division as of August 2026.
Why this matters
The Port of Long Beach has said publicly, through CEO Dr. Noel Hacegaba, that its 2050 vision requires hundreds of megawatts as it electrifies and moves to zero-emission operations. That is a named customer with a stated number, sitting on the same site as the company. Mayor Rex Richardson has put the city behind it.
