What Namespace is building
Namespace sells the compute that software gets built and tested on, and it runs that compute itself: its own hardware, hypervisor and scheduler, with Linux, Windows and Apple Silicon macOS instances. On top sit three products. GitHub Actions runners are a drop-in replacement for GitHub's own. Remote builders cover Docker, Bazel (including remote execution), Turborepo and Nix. Devboxes are build-and-test environments on Mac, Windows and Linux, now pitched directly at AI coding agents. The pricing tells you the design. Everything is metered in 'unit minutes' (1 vCPU and 2 GB for a minute) times a platform multiplier, from 1x for Linux to 10x for macOS. Linux starts at $0.001 a vCPU-minute prepaid, and Devboxes cost $0.004 a minute plus storage. Caching is a first-class product, with cache snapshots, registry storage and Bazel cache hits each priced separately, because fast CI is mostly a caching problem. The customer list is unusually strong for a 20-something-person company: Ramp, SpaceXAI, ElevenLabs, Factory, Framer, Zed, Vanta, Sierra, Warp, DuckDB and Mapbox among them. Warp reports 4x faster CI and runs more than 20,000 sandboxes a month on Namespace.
Why this matters
Coding agents change the economics of CI. A human opens a few PRs a day; an agent fleet can open hundreds, and each one needs an isolated environment to build, test and iterate in. Scale's Javier Redondo put it plainly in the announcement: agents in software development 'challenge the tradeoff assumptions made by prior generations of tooling.' General-purpose clouds weren't built for thousands of short-lived, cache-heavy, sometimes macOS jobs, and GitHub's hosted runners are slow and expensive. Namespace's numbers back the timing: 8x revenue growth in a year, 1,000+ customers, and a Series B seven months after the A.
Investors: Scale Venture Partners (Javier Redondo), NEA, 20VC, Essence, Burst Capital, Susa Ventures, Angels: Olivier Pomel (Datadog), Mitchell Hashimoto, Spencer Kimball, Neha Narkhede
Hiring outlook
Hugo's Series B post says they will 'continue hiring world-class talent,' and the Ashby board has 10 live roles across engineering, security, customer engineering and sales in Switzerland, Germany, the UK, New York and the SF Bay Area. No salaries are listed.

How to actually get hired at Namespace
Why applying the normal way doesn't work
Namespace uses an ATS, but referrals still come first. Cold applications aren't ignored β they're just behind referrals, sourced candidates, and recruiter picks.

What to show them
Take a real open-source repo with a slow CI pipeline, profile it end to end, and move it onto Namespace runners plus remote cache. Publish before/after timings broken down by queue, restore, build and test, and explain where the remaining time goes.
A cold email that works at Namespace
What Namespace screens for
Look at who wrote angel checks: Datadog's CEO, HashiCorp's co-founder, Cockroach's CEO and Confluent's co-founder. Infrastructure founders don't back a CI company unless they think it's a platform. Harry Stebbings said these are 'the best set of customer references we've ever had' in 12 years of investing. With roughly 22 people, 1,000+ customers and a fresh $42M, the next hires will own whole surfaces such as macOS, security and the US engineering org. The Engineering Lead, US role is the clearest sign they're building a second center of gravity outside Zurich.
Tailor your CV to the specific Namespace role rather than sending a general one. Applications that mirror the language of the job description clear automated filters at a materially higher rate.
Don't make these mistakes
Don't tell Hugo that 'CI is slow and painful.' He spent nearly nine years as a principal engineer on Google's internal application platform and built Namespace precisely because he knows how good build infrastructure can be. Skip the generic DevEx complaints. Show him a specific build graph, cache miss or runner bottleneck and what you'd do about it.
Mistakes that kill Namespace applications
Don't send the same CV you sent everywhere else. At people it's obvious, and it's the fastest rejection there is.
Lead with their problem, not your ambition. Namespace is focused on Coding agents change the economics of CI β show you understand that.
Don't apply and wait. The median AI application gets no response ever. One follow-up at day five roughly doubles reply rates.
