About the role

From Isembard's posting on Ashby, as they wrote it

About Isembard

Isembard is building a network of high-performance factories for critical industries. We combine advanced machine tools, robotics and our own software, MasonOS, to make precision components for aerospace, defense, energy and frontier technology companies, with factories across the US, UK, Germany and France. Our mission is to forge industrial acceleration.

The role

Defense, aerospace and energy customers depend on us for precision-machined parts on dates that cannot move. The Account Manager owns a set of those customer relationships in the US.

You will sit between the shop floor and the customer's program schedule, turning production reality into updates the customer can act on and customer priorities into production urgency. We grow accounts by being a reliable partner, and you will be responsible for growing yours.

What you'll do

  • Own a named portfolio of customer accounts as the main contact for program managers, quality leads and procurement.
  • Know the status of every active purchase order before anyone asks.
  • Raise schedule risk, quality concerns and delays before the customer has to, choosing the right channel for each update.
  • Own quotes and order management for your accounts, with technical support from engineering.
  • Grow your accounts by understanding what each customer needs on cost, quality and lead time.
  • Work with Quality on nonconformance and corrective action, and feed commitments back into scheduling so nothing is promised the floor cannot deliver.
  • Build playbooks and escalation paths the wider team can use.

What we're looking for

  • Three or more years in customer success, account management or program management, ideally in manufacturing, aerospace, defense or another regulated industry.
  • Enough technical fluency to discuss tolerances and production scheduling with customers and machinists.
  • Judgment about when a situation needs a phone call rather than an email.
  • Composure in difficult conversations about a slipped date or cost overrun, and the ability to present a credible recovery plan.
  • Strong organization across several accounts, and comfort building your own systems.

Nice to have

  • Prior exposure to CNC manufacturing, hardware or engineering environments.
  • A technical or engineering background.

Why Isembard

  • Own relationships with customers building some of the most advanced hardware in the country.
  • Shape how Isembard supports customers as the account base grows.
  • Competitive salary and equity.
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off and parental leave, Wellhub gym and wellness membership, and a stocked kitchen at the factory.

Location: On-site at our Dallas-Fort Worth factory in Carrollton, TX, with travel to Isembard sites and customer sites.

Isembard is an equal opportunity employer.
