General Atlantic is looking to hire an Analyst to support the Portfolio Management team. This role is a two-year program (with the ability to extend, depending on performance and business need).

The Portfolio Management team provides a senior-level analytics and risk management function at the firm, working closely with our senior leaders and investment team members, and partnering with our fundraising, finance operations, valuations, and capital markets teams. The Portfolio Management team leverages portfolio company data to identify risks and opportunities and assess the general health of our portfolio for the senior-level Portfolio Committee. The team also leverages this data for internal and external reporting, including directly with investors. This generalist role offers a broad view of GA’s 200+ portfolio companies and of the firm itself. The Analyst will partner with professionals across the firm while serving a vital role to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Portfolio Management team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the quarterly financial planning cycles across portfolio companies, consolidating information and providing analyses to leadership via Portfolio Committee meetings.
  • Collaborate across the firm working with Investment, Capital Solutions, Marketing, Legal, Accounting, and Finance professionals.
  • Collect, review, and analyze portfolio company-level data across GA’s 250+ portfolio companies.
  • Analyze investment performance, returns, and key metrics to draw insights and conclusions at both the company and fund/portfolio levels.
  • Leverage portfolio data to develop metrics, solve problems, and prepare materials for senior-level audiences influencing decision-making.
  • Synthesize findings across the portfolio and macro data to deliver thoughtful analysis and actionable insights.
  • Support the design and implementation of process improvement and new technology initiatives to drive scalable analysis and insight across the team and firm.
  • Use AI tools in day-to-day work to automate analysis and reporting, and to speed up research and data synthesis.
  • Identify and pilot new ways to apply AI to portfolio data and team workflows, and share what works with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the consulting, accounting, corporate finance, or banking industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements – P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow (i.e., ability to interpret financial data and related management information).
  • Ability to develop presentations leveraging creativity, thoughtful business judgment and problem solving.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to synthesize information.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to own specific parts of projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Intellectually curious, resourceful, and team-oriented, with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Experience or exposure to planning and reporting or data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, iLevel) is a plus but not required.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Glean, Copilot, or similar platforms) to improve analysis, automate work, and streamline workflows; candidates should be prepared to discuss specific examples.

GA Value

  • Competitive compensation
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • Retirement savings plan with employer matching
  • Professional development opportunities and ongoing training
  • Collaborative and inclusive work culture with opportunities for advancement
