About the role

From The New York Times's posting on Greenhouse, as they wrote it

The mission of The New York Times is to seek the truth and help people understand the world. That means independent journalism is at the heart of all we do as a company. It’s why we have a world-renowned newsroom that sends journalists to report on the ground from nearly 160 countries. Your Role

As a Product Design Intern, we’ll provide you with an educational experience on what it's like to be a product designer and collaborate with different parts of the organization, such as engineering, product management, and the newsroom. You'll support the Product Design team by working within your team. Our products live across multiple platforms, so you may have opportunities to contribute to iOS, Android, and web projects.

  • Learn about the importance of gathering user insights so that we can find opportunities to better meet their needs. Establish familiarity with product design and the release cycle by supporting work and contributing components that lead to hitting team or company goals.
  • Have an opportunity to give a brief presentation of what you worked on over the summer.
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.

Basic Qualifications
