AI-native legal intelligence platform replacing legacy CLM

What Chamelio is building

Chamelio is an AI-native operating system for in-house legal teams, and the pitch is a deliberate shot at contract lifecycle management as a category. The company's own framing: move legal from storage into knowledge, and from a system of record into a system of action. A traditional CLM is a filing cabinet with a workflow engine bolted on. Chamelio treats the contract repository as training material for agents that then do the work. The primitives stack in that direction. At the base, automated metadata extraction, auto-tagging, custom columns, document linking and a legal knowledge vault, so the corpus is queryable rather than merely stored. Above that, Flows and an Agent Hub: agentic workflows that execute multi-step tasks across the legal lifecycle, automated intake routing and triage, task and matter management. At the negotiation layer, AI redlining inside Word, playbooks, and a playbook generator that derives a company's negotiating position from its own history of what it actually conceded. Then agentic legal research, plus dashboards that surface where a legal team's time is genuinely going and which approval steps are the bottleneck. Integrations run to Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, NetSuite, Google Drive, SharePoint and DocuSign, because in-house legal work happens in other people's tools. The positioning line is the sharpest thing on the site: AI without your specific context is just a confident stranger. A generic model can tell you what a limitation-of-liability clause usually says. It cannot tell you that your company has accepted mutual caps at 2x fees eleven times and refused 3x twice, and which deal sizes moved that line. That institutional memory, contracts, past negotiations, templates, prior decisions, is what Chamelio turns into the platform's operating context, and it is what the newly funded 'legal action model' is meant to formalize.

Why this matters

The growth curve is the argument. ARR grew 4x in the roughly eight months between the $10M seed in January 2026 and this round, and the customer list is not the usual legaltech mix of design partners: Wiz, monday.com, Socure, AppsFlyer and Wonderful, with hundreds of customers overall. Fast-scaling tech companies are the hardest in-house legal buyers to impress, because their legal teams are small, permanently underwater, and completely unsentimental about tools that do not remove work. That buyer pressure is the timing. In-house legal is one of the few enterprise functions where headcount genuinely cannot scale with the business, and where the work is overwhelmingly textual, precedent-driven and internally repetitive. It is close to the ideal shape for agents. The reason it has stayed unsolved is that the stakes make generic output worthless: a plausible-sounding clause recommendation that contradicts your own prior positions is worse than no recommendation, because a lawyer has to verify it anyway. Which is why the context argument is the whole business rather than marketing. Zilberman's line on the raise is that AI in legal shows dividends when it can make decisions intuitively, built on the corporate intelligence of each business. Legacy CLM vendors have the documents but not the model; foundation-model wrappers have the model but not the documents. Chamelio's bet is that whoever owns the ingestion and the institutional memory owns the agent layer on top of it, and the 4x in eight months suggests buyers agree.

Hiring outlook

The funding announcement names team expansion as a direct use of proceeds: the legal engineering and product teams specifically. Ten roles are live on the Ashby board across R&D, Legal, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and G&A, split between Tel Aviv and the US, and one of them is a GTM Talent Acquisition Partner, which is what a company posts when it intends to hire a lot more.

How to actually get hired at Chamelio

Why applying the normal way doesn't work

Chamelio runs an applicant tracking system, but hiring managers still work referrals first. A cold application to Chamelio isn't dead, it's just fourth in line behind internal referrals, sourced candidates and recruiter pipelines.

What to show them

Build the thing the job description asks for, at small scale, and show the plumbing. Pick a target segment of in-house legal teams, then wire enrichment to scoring to routing to outbound end to end, ideally across the named stack of Clay, n8n and a CRM. The part that will separate you: instrument it. Show the intent signal you chose, why you chose it, what it predicted, and the point at which you stopped using the no-code tool and wrote against the API instead, because the posting explicitly asks for that judgment.

A cold email that works at Chamelio

Subject: Fullstack Engineer (Tel Aviv, R&D), [your one-line proof]
Hi Alex, I built a working prospecting-to-routing pipeline for in-house legal teams across Clay, n8n and Attio, and the honest result is that firmographic scoring was close to useless; the only signal that predicted a reply was a recent GC hire. Loom and architecture diagram attached. Your Founding GTM Engineer post asks for someone who knows when to stop using no-code, so here's exactly where I hit that wall and what I rebuilt against the API.

What Chamelio screens for

Entrée Capital leading with Work-Bench following is a specific combination: Work-Bench is a New York enterprise-infrastructure fund whose whole practice is selling into large US enterprises, and Chamelio is an Israeli-founded company whose US commercial roles, Account Executive, Head of Demand Gen, Head of Sales Development, Founding GTM Engineer, GTM Talent Acquisition Partner, are all posted for the United States while R&D stays in Tel Aviv. Read that split literally. This round is funding a US enterprise go-to-market build-out on top of Israeli engineering. 4x ARR in eight months means the commercial motion is already working and they are staffing to pour into it rather than to find it. If you are US-based and commercial, you are hiring into proven demand. If you are Tel Aviv and technical, you are hiring into the legal action model the round was explicitly raised to build.

Don't make these mistakes

The 'AI is going to transform legal' opener. Alex is a two-time founder who was COO and co-founder of AnyVision and held leadership roles at Pagaya; Gal founded an AI company that Sage acquired and then ran senior AI leadership there. They have both shipped applied AI into regulated enterprise buyers already, and Chamelio's entire public positioning is a rejection of that framing: AI without your specific context is just a confident stranger. A demo of retrieval over a pile of contracts is exactly the confident stranger they are arguing against. Bring instead a concrete instance where context was the failure, a clause a general-purpose model recommended that contradicted the company's own prior negotiated position, and what you would have needed to catch it.
